It Ends with Us Review

Today I want to talk about a book that left me absolutely speechless – “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover. This book is a powerful and emotional story that tackles some heavy topics like domestic abuse and the cycle of violence.

“It Ends with Us” is the first book I’ve ever read by Colleen Hoover, and let me tell you, it completely blew me away!

From the very first page, I was captivated by the raw emotions, complex characters, and the incredible storytelling. Colleen Hoover has instantly become one of my favourite authors!

“It Ends with Us” is a beautifully written contemporary romance book that takes readers on an unforgettable journey.

It Ends With Us Synopsis

The story follows Lily, a strong and independent woman who finds herself in a new relationship with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid.

At first, everything seems perfect, but as their relationship progresses, Lily finds herself becoming overwhelmed by Ryle’s possessiveness and controlling behaviour.

As she navigates the challenges of love and life, she also grapples with her own past experiences of domestic violence.

It Ends With Us Review

Colleen Hoover does an incredible job of portraying the complexities of love and the hardships that people face in relationships.

This book is a raw and honest look at the effects of abuse and how it can affect not only the victim, but also the people around them. The story also delves into the idea of breaking the cycle of abuse and finding the strength to stand up for oneself, even in the face of overwhelming odds.

One of the most compelling aspects of the book is the characters. Lily is a relatable and strong-willed protagonist who you can’t help but root for. And then there’s Ryle, who you can’t help but have a total soft spot for, despite his flaws. And let’s not forget about Atlas Corrigan, Lily’s first love who suddenly reappears. The love triangle in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat, trust me!

Hoover’s writing style effortlessly draws you into the story, making it nearly impossible to put down.

The character development in “It Ends with Us” is exceptional. Lily Bloom is a strong, determined protagonist whose journey resonates with readers long after the final page.

We witness her emotional growth, shifting perceptions, and the difficult choices she is forced to make.

Her raw vulnerability adds depth and relatability to her character, making her feel like a close friend.

The progression of Lily’s relationship with Ryle, a seemingly perfect yet troubled love interest, is both captivating and heart-wrenching.

Hoover beautifully captures the complexities of love, showing us that it isn’t always black and white.

Through their interactions, the author crafts an intimate portrayal of both the joys and challenges couples face, while also addressing important sociocultural issues surrounding domestic violence.

Hoover’s ability to strike a balance between heartbreak and hope is commendable.

She handles sensitive topics with grace, providing readers with a profound and thought-provoking reading experience.

“It Ends with Us” is a powerful novel that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you reflecting on the intricacies of love, resilience, and personal growth.

Colleen Hoover’s raw writing style and engaging characters make this book an absolute must-read for anyone looking to get swept away in an emotional and unforgettable story.

A Movie?

I’m not usually into rom coms, but I am counting down the days until “It Ends with Us” hits the big screens in July.

I’m crossing my fingers that the movie stays true to the book’s powerful message and gives justice to the incredible characters crafted by Colleen Hoover!

I see Colleen Hoover’s books all over the place, she certainly is a prolific, and seemingly well liked author. I have not read anything by her yet, as I don’t tend to read the genre/stories she typically writes. I do like the sound of this though and watch films and tv series like it so I could get into it!
