National Kick a Ginger Day

National Kick a Ginger Day

Can you believe there’s actually a day dedicated to kicking gingers?

As someone who grew up with flaming red hair, I couldn’t help but be taken aback by this.

I mean, I always knew people could be mean, but a whole day dedicated to picking on redheads? That’s just crazy!

In primary school, I was the only redhead, and let me tell you, it wasn’t always easy. It was like being the black sheep in a field full of sheep.

But you know what? Despite the occasional teasing, I learned to embrace my unique locks and be proud of who I am.

I firmly believe that experiences like these have shaped me into the strong and resilient individual I am today.

My red hair symbolises strength, passion, and an undeniable zest for life!

One thing I’ve realised over time is that being different should be celebrated, not ridiculed.

Our individuality is what makes us beautiful and unique.

What is the history of Kick a Ginger Day?

I first came across National Kick a Ginger Day a few years ago, and I couldn’t believe it was a real thing – National Kick a Ginger Day. Wait, what?!

I know, it sounds absolutely ridiculous, and trust me, it is!

At first I laughed about it, that was until I realised what the day was about. So let me dive into what exactly this day is all about.

So apparently, this so-called “holiday” was created back in 2008 by a 14-year-old in Vancouver, Canada. Can you believe it?

I mean, who would come up with such a bizarre idea?

Well, the teen was inspired by an episode of South Park called “Ginger Kids”.

In this episode, they talk about red-haired people, or “gingers”, and make some pretty outrageous claims.

Little did this kid know that creating a dedicated day based on this episode would have some serious consequences.

After this young person created a Facebook page called “National Kick a Ginger Day,” it quickly gained over 5,000 followers.

Sadly, the page’s intention was to encourage people to actually kick adults and children with red hair on November 20th.

You can only imagine the outrage and shock that spread around the world.

Redheads everywhere were targeted for no reason other than the colour of their hair.

Now, let’s be clear – this whole concept is absolutely unacceptable!

It’s promoting hatred, discrimination, and violence based solely on someone’s appearance.

It’s heartbreaking to think that a simple hair colour could make someone a target of hate crimes.

I strongly believe that everyone deserves to be treated with love, respect, and kindness, regardless of their physical features.

I mentioned earlier that this day has become a catalyst for hate crimes against redheads every year since 2008.

It breaks my heart to even utter those words.

No one should have to endure such cruelty, especially just because they were born with a certain hair colour.

It’s so disheartening to know that red-haired children have been left beaten and bleeding in schools because of some so-called “holiday” that promotes harm.

Ginger and Proud

Let’s show the world that being a ginger is something worth celebrating, not ridiculing!

Remember, it’s our differences that make us special, and I wouldn’t trade my red hair for anything.

Embrace who you are, rock that ginger look, and never let anyone dull your fire!

Being a natural redhead is something I absolutely adore and take pride in.

My fiery locks are not just an accessory, they’re my favourite asset!

Not only does being a redhead make me unique, but it also comes with a vibrant personality to match.

There’s something magical about the way red hair stands out in a crowd, turning heads wherever I go.

Living life as a proud ginger has its perks!

So here’s to celebrating the beauty of red hair!

Whether you’re a natural redhead, a fellow ginger enthusiast, or simply appreciate the fiery locks, let’s spread the love for our crimson mane!

And steer clear of any negativity or hate!
